SP InfoTech ("we", "us", or "our") operates MapleBooks - desktop accounting software available at maplebooks.app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or purchase our software, how we use it, and your rights.

MapleBooks is a local desktop application. All financial data you enter into the app - invoices, expenses, accounts - is stored exclusively on your own computer. We have no access to it.

1. Information We Collect

a) Purchase information

When you buy MapleBooks, our payment processor Stripe collects your name, email address, and payment details (card number, billing address). We receive from Stripe only a confirmation of the transaction, your email address, and the amount paid. We never see or store your full card number.

b) Contact form

If you send us a message via the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. This is stored in our database solely to manage and reply to your enquiry.

c) Website analytics

We may collect anonymised usage data about pages visited and traffic sources to understand how people find our website. This data does not identify you personally.

d) Download tokens

After purchase, a time-limited download token is associated with your email address so you can access the installer files. No other account is created.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To process your payment and deliver your download link.
• To send you a purchase receipt and, where applicable, a licence key.
• To respond to support and contact form enquiries.
• To notify you of critical bug fixes or security patches (no marketing emails without consent).
• To comply with legal obligations such as tax record-keeping.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Any data you enter inside the MapleBooks application (invoices, clients, accounts, etc.).
• Your location beyond what Stripe may determine for fraud prevention.
• Persistent cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

4. Third-Party Services

• Stripe - payment processing. Your payment information is handled directly by Stripe under their Privacy Policy.
• Google Fonts - our website loads the Inter typeface from Google's CDN. Google may log the request IP. You can learn more at Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any other third parties.

5. Data Retention

Purchase records are retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with financial record-keeping laws. Contact form messages are deleted after 2 years unless an ongoing support matter requires retention. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time (see section 7).

6. Security

Our website is served over HTTPS. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. Access to our admin systems is protected by authentication and access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal obligations).
• Object to or restrict processing of your data.
• Data portability - receive your data in a machine-readable format.

8. Cookies

Our website uses a minimal session cookie required for CSRF protection and form submissions. This cookie is strictly necessary and does not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

MapleBooks is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 years of age.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our website or software after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
